Welcome to Providence Farm!
Providence Farm began in 1998, in Delaware County with 5 acres and 25 organic layers. As demand grew for organic eggs our flock doubled and we became more interested in organic farming. We soon outgrew our 5 acres and moved to 88 in 2005! We're loving our new old farm in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. We raise grass-fed, registered Scottish Highland cattle, registered Tennessee Fainting goats, free-range, pastured, organic Heritage turkeys,
chickens and guineas.
While we are not certified organic, we use organic practices, and we supplement pastured poultry with certified organic grain. We use absoluetly no growth hormones and do not use antibiotics. Our livestock are raised with lots of TLC in large pastures with fresh air, sunshine and fresh water.
We also offer quality, chemical free hay. Mixed grasses, alfalfa, clover. Square bales. Or as our 5 year old Marshall calls them as he sees them-rectangle bales!
We have an annual Pumpkin Festival the first full weekend in October. We had a blast last year with hayrides, kids activities, vendors, food, and great live music! Check our calendar page for more information on our 2006 festival.
We also offer school field trips by appointment.
